ALAMEDA CORRIDOR IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS
After more than two decades of planning and five
years of construction, the Alameda Corridor is open for

ROCKY REDUX: HOLLYWOOD VS. THE WORLD
Hollywood is in the global battle for its life and
the picture isn't very good. According to a report
recently released by the Entertainment Industry
Development Group, the production of just about
everything that Tinseltown holds dear - feature films,
commercials, music videos, and television shows - fell
by more than 29% in February compared with the same
month a year ago. Feature films, the big ticket
backbone of California's entertainment industry, took
the heaviest hit during the month - down by a
staggering 65% to only 408 production days during the

RIDGE TOUTS US-MEXICO "FAST LANE" FOR FREIGHT
The movement of goods between the US and Mexico - a
complicated and sometimes convoluted process in the
best of times - could "dramatically" improve if a plan
proposed by US Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge
gets the nod from Washington and Mexico City. Ridge,
speaking recently after two days of meetings in the
Mexican capitol, said that a cross-border "fast lane"
