BAY AREA WORLD TRADE CENTER RE-DESIGNS WEBSITE

OAKLAND - 04/07/04 - The Bay Area World Trade Center has re-designed its website, www.bawtc.com, "to provide the Bay Area's business community with a powerful online international resource and portal of aggregated trade leads, international research, current news, regulatory information, tariff rates and schedules, local directory of international businesses and global financing options."

"Enhancing the design has made www.bawtc.com the most comprehensive trade portal among any of the three-hundred World Trade Centers in more than one-hundred countries," said Elihu Harris, chairman of the BAWTC.

From April 2003 to February 2004, the number of visitors to the website increased by 131% with over 200,000 hits in February 2003 alone.

The Oakland-headquartered Bay Area World Trade Center - which serves the greater nine-county San Francisco Bay Area - re-designed the website as part of a larger effort "to assist every level of business from the most sophisticated importer to firms who are new to exporting," said Harris. "The website has thousands of pages of in-depth market research and searchable trade leads to help exporters and importers find buyers, sellers, and distributors."

In addition to allowing visitors to solicit assistance and request information from the BAWTC, the website includes links for currency conversion, holidays in every country, international telephone codes, international health and travel advisories, homeland security alerts, as well as a hyperlink to the CalTrade Report.
