ANNUAL GEORGIA TRADE CONFERENCE PLANNED
SAVANNAH - 09/29/04 - The 2004 Georgia Foreign Trade Conference (GFTC) Executive Committee has said that final preparations are near completion for the 38th Annual Georgia Foreign Trade Conference.
The 2004 GFTC is scheduled for October 26-28, 2004, at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort.
The three-day event will bring together approximately 400 senior level shippers and maritime executives from across the country.
Hundreds representing Georgia's maritime community will be in attendance, with senior decision-makers representing ocean carriers, ports, terminal operators, government agencies, financial institutions, shippers, stevedores, railroads, truckers, forwarders and brokers, 3PL's, 4PL's, international port management companies, port consultants, suppliers, site selectors and others critical to the movement of international freight also in attendance.
The Georgia Foreign Trade Conference is organized annually by the Savannah Maritime Association, the Independent Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association of Savannah Inc., the Georgia Stevedore Association, and the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA).
"The 2004 program has been complete for some time; I believe it's among the best in recent years," stated Byron Hock, 2004 GFTC Program Chair and GPA Director of Trade Development.
"We've put together a strong cross-section of speakers covering topics applicable to both the service provider and the shipper. The GFTC has always proven to be a well organized working conference with a few networking events thrown in for good measure," he said. "There's a little something there for everyone, but most important there's a lot there for each delegate to take back and apply to a practical working environment."
Registration for the conference remains open throughout each of its three-days.
Cost for the event is a flat $595 and covers the registrant, plus one. A special rate is being extended to 'qualified shippers' for $300 and covers the registrant, plus one.
A limited number of sponsorships remain available within a number of affordable sponsorship ranges.
