KEEL LAID FOR NEW PRINCESS CRUISES' SHIP

SANTA CLARITA - 12/15/04 - The recent keel laying for the new MV Crown Princess marks the official start of the construction on Princess Cruises' newest passenger ship.

The festivities marking the occasion took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, where the ship is being built.

The first section of the ship was ceremoniously moved into the yard's building dock, where the 3,100-passenger ship is floated out of the dock and joins the Princess fleet in the spring of 2006.

The new Crown Princess will introduce a number of new design innovations to the Princess fleet, including a new piazza-style atrium, several new casual dining venues, and expansion of some favorite shipboard areas.

The new 113,000-ton ship will feature nearly 900 staterooms with private balconies, and multiple dining and entertainment options, personal choice dining featuring traditional or anytime seating, a two-story Lotus Spa with fitness center, an extensive children and teen's center, wedding chapel, and a "Movies Under the Stars" poolside movie screen.

In addition, several signature Princess venues have been further enhanced, including an expanded Trattoria Sabatini with a new piano lounge area and the addition of pub fare to the trademark Wheelhouse Bar. A new steak and seafood restaurant expands on the Sterling Steakhouse concept with an open, theater-style kitchen.

Princess Cruises is a global cruise and tour company operating a fleet of 14 cruise ships calling at ports on seven continents on voyages ranging in length from seven to 30 days.

The Southern California-headquartered company, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2005, is part of Carnival Corporation and a partner in an exclusive alliance with Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America, Cunard Line, Costa Cruises, Windstar Cruises, and The Yachts of Seabourn.
