California Software Nabs Seychelles Contract

SAN CLEMENTE - 04/18/05 - The Seychelles Marketing Board (SMB) has awarded a contract to the California Software Corporation to integrate its national call center with back-end computer software systems.

The project is the first undertaken by the Indian Ocean-island nation's recently-created SMB and will involve the organization of its fundamental business processes by integrating and developing more than 20 "workflows," which will manage its new call center agents' work and connect them with a variety of back-end services.

The cooperative agreemenat calls for California Software "to develop the processes as secure web services, allowing the call center workflows to be accessed via well-defined web services interfaces" utilizing the San Clemente-based company's  recently-developed INFINITE NET software on the new project.

California Software produces legacy extension, business intelligence, and loan production software for banks, credit unions, and consumer lending institutions and serves more than 100,000 installations in 56 countries worldwide from offices in Asia, South America, Europe, and North America.

California Solar Bill Derailed by Politics

SAN JOSE – 09/19/05 – A piece of legislation before the California State Assembly that would have brought solar energy to 1 million new homes and businesses within 10 years has been stalled after three amendments were added to the bill following intense lobbying by two powerful labor unions – the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the California State Building Trades Council.

Viva Vino! US, EU Reach Landmark Wine Accord

SAN FRANCISCO – 09/16/05 – California wine makers are sure to benefit from a new trade agreement between the US and the European Union that addresses key wine trade issues including the recognition of winemaking practices and US place names in Europe, and the use of semi-generic names; the new agreement caps more than 20 years of wine trade talks.
