ISRAELI FIRM SCORES FOUR CAL CONTRACTS

JERUSALEM, Israel - 10/23/05 - Identa Corp. said that it had exceeded its initial projections during its recent US marketing and training mission.

Identa officials completed the tour with eight new agreements for representing its line of proprietary on-site drug detection kits including contracts with three California-based companies -Test Country Diego, based in San Diego, and Security Pro USA and Botach Tactical Inc., both headquartered in Los Angeles.

According to a spokesman for the Israeli company, Identa initially expected to finalize seven  agreements during its US business mission.

Two additional agreements were signed later with, Mako Security Inc. and Drug Test Systems.

Mako Security is based in Los Angeles with a sales office in Florida. The company finalized its contract with Identa at the recent International Association of Chiefs of Police annual meeting in Miami.

The company now has corporate representatives in 20 countries including 23 companies in the US and four companies in the UK.

Jerusalem-based Identa develops and manufactures proprietary on-site kits for the detection of marijuana, hashish, ecstasy, cocaine, crack, and heroin use that are used by corporations, medical facilities, government agencies, and security and police forces  around the world.

MEXICO LIFTS CALIFORNIA LETTUCE BAN

GOOGLE BELGIUM TAKEN TO COURT

BRUSSELS, Belgium – 09/20/06 – Internet search engine Google has been ordered to cease reproducing articles from French-language publications in the news sections of its Belgian website; the court order threatens the company with a fine of $1.3 million daily if it does not comply.


NEW OAKLAND INTERMODAL FACILITY PLANNED

OAKLAND – 09/11/06 – The 425-acre former Oakland Army Base will be converted into the Port of Oakland’s newest intermodal rail yard under the terms of an agreement reached between the port and several local and state government agencies; the planned OHIT – or Outer Harbor Intermodal Terminal – is expected to significantly reduce container transfer times, increase throughput, and reduce truck traffic in and around the port when completed within the next several years.


INTEL MAY LAYOFF THOUSANDS

SANTA CLARA – 09/04/06 – Chipmaker Intel is reportedly planning to announce a massive layoff within weeks that could eliminate as many as 10,000 jobs or one-tenth of the company’s total global workforce; the move was spurred by several financially disappointing quarters and the results of an internal corporate analysis conducted in April.
