INLAND EMPIRE LOGISTICS PROJECT ADVANCES
REDWOOD CITY - 04/14/06 - The YaSheng Group continues to receive widespread support for its planned development of an Asian Pacific Logistics Center in Southern California's Inland Empire region.
Over the past year the company has received support for the project from the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and Economic Development Department, as well as the People's Republic of China's Commercial Department in Los Angeles.
The project is located in San Bernardino County and was started in March of 2004 with the purchase of land that covers an area of 81 acres.
The planned facility will center around an automated high-tech logistics facility to serve both Chinese and US companies as a strategically-sited cargo transportation and storage warehouse hub near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the Southern California Logistics Airport.
Receiving support from the San Bernardino Board of Supervisors and Economic Development Department have reportedly written a letter of support for the project and plan to set up an internal team to assist YaSheng in expediting the legal documentation and certification process. YaSheng Group has also received support from the People's Republic of China's Commercial Department office in Los Angeles.
The Environmental Endangered Species study on the project is slated for completion within a few months, and, once completed, will allow the company to begin the other required studies mandated by the San Bernardino County planning department.
Construction on the project is expected to begin later this year with completion slated for the summer of 2007.
The YaSheng Group, headquartered in Redwood City, is a diversified industrial conglomerate that operates in the hi-technology, agriculture, salt chemistry, logistics management, and biological technology industry sectors.
The company has total assets of approximately $1.5 billion and over 15,000 employees in the Asia-Pacific region.
