KIWA INKS CHINA DISTRIBUTION CONTRACTS

CLAREMONT - 05/05/06 - Bio-tech developer Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group Corp. has signed distribution agreements with four organizations in China and further expand the company's reach into Asian bio-tech market.

The combined sales objectives for the four contracts, the company said, is $17.8 million.

The agreements cover several products including "Yi Mu Ling" water flush fertilizer; "Pu Guang Fu" liquid fertilizer for plant's leaves; "Zhi Guang You" compound microorganism fertilizer; and organic fertilizer.

The company's line of fertilizer products sell from $500 per ton to as much as $6,000 per ton.

According to a company statement, the annual agreements were signed with the Heilongjiang Baidahuang Food Technology Development Co. Ltd.; the Beijing Zhongnog Xingda Agriculture Development Co. Ltd.; the Tianjin Challenge Feed Co. Ltd.; and the Nanjing Zhongzheng Agricultural Technological Products Promotion Co. Ltd.

Kiwa's products will be marketed by the company's new partners in
Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning; Hebei Province, Henan Province, Beijing and Tianjin; Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi; and Jiangsu, Anhui, and Zhejiang, respectively.

Kiwa Bio-Tech develops, manufactures, and distributes innovative, cost-effective, and environmentally safe bio-technological products to agricultural and natural resource conservation markets.

The company is particularly active in Asia and recently acquired the rights to manufacture and market the AF-01 Anti-Viral Aerosol Agent used in preventing bird-flu disease in China and other international markets.

NEW OAKLAND INTERMODAL FACILITY PLANNED

OAKLAND – 09/11/06 – The 425-acre former Oakland Army Base will be converted into the Port of Oakland’s newest intermodal rail yard under the terms of an agreement reached between the port and several local and state government agencies; the planned OHIT – or Outer Harbor Intermodal Terminal – is expected to significantly reduce container transfer times, increase throughput, and reduce truck traffic in and around the port when completed within the next several years.


INTEL MAY LAYOFF THOUSANDS

SANTA CLARA – 09/04/06 – Chipmaker Intel is reportedly planning to announce a massive layoff within weeks that could eliminate as many as 10,000 jobs or one-tenth of the company’s total global workforce; the move was spurred by several financially disappointing quarters and the results of an internal corporate analysis conducted in April.
