
SECUGEN GRANTED 20-YEAR PATENT IN CHINA
SANTA CLARA - 12/31/04 - The China's Patent Office has granted the SecuGen Corporation a patent for its key fingerprint recognition sensor hardware. The patent entitled, "Method and Apparatus for Reduction of Trapezoidal Distortion and Improvement of Image Sharpness in an Optical Image Capturing System" covers the optic technology used in all of the company's sensors.
Granted under the auspices of the State Intellectual Property Office, the patent designates SecuGen Corporation as the sole assignee for a period of twenty years.
Santa Clara-headquartered SecuGen Corporation develops and manufactures advanced, optical fingerprint recognition technology, products, tools and platforms for physical and information security. It also designs and develops proprietary and patented fingerprint sensors and algorithms and markets OEM components, developer kits, application software, and fingerprint peripherals worldwide for a wide range of applications.
