NEWARK - GRIC Communications Inc. has named election of Roderick McGeary to its Board of Directors. McGeary joins eight directors who were reelected during the meeting: Messrs. Hong Chen, GRIC's chairman; Bharat Dave, GRIC's president, chief operating officer, and acting chief executive officer; Mark Hsu; Kheng Nam Lee; Robert Shen; Hock Chuan Tam; Gerald Wright; and Joseph Zaelit. Yen-son "Paul" Huang, a GRIC director since 1995, retired from the Board and did not stand for reelection. McGeary previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brience Inc., a mobile software company. He holds a BA degree in accounting from Lehigh University.
SAN JOSE - Frank Skubal has been named Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Vocent Solutions Inc. In his new position, Skubal will head Vocent's sales and marketing effort. Prior to joining Vocent, Skubal served as Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Vice President of Global Accounts at Interwoven Inc. Before joining Interwoven, Skubal, a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago, held sales, marketing and management positions with several other companies, most recently Verity, a developer of portal infrastructure solutions. MILPITAS - Velio Communications Inc. has hired Dean Grumlose as its new Vice President of Marketing. Grumlose served most recently as Vice President of Routing Products at PMC-Sierra, where he was responsible for voice-over-packet, switch fabric, network processing, and traffic management product lines.
