SAN FRANCISCO - Gina Petroni is serving as the Interim International Trade Manager at the Northern California World Trade Center. Petroni will take over from Amber Baade, who will be on leave from the WTC until November.
LONG BEACH - The CEO of the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA), James Hankla has said he will leave the agency to accept an appointment to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners. Hankla, the former Long Beach city manager joined the ACTA as CEO in 1998. ACTA Director of Construction and Engineering John Doherty has been named interim CEO until a permanent successor is selected by the Governing Board. He has been a member of the Alameda Corridor team for eight years, serving as director of construction for the agency's construction management joint venture Alameda Corridor Engineering Team (ACET) before being named ACTA's director of construction and engineering in February. Doherty was formerly the vice president of operations of the Long Island Railroad, the nation's largest commuter railroad, where he served 24 years in various capacities. Hankla was appointed to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners on June 10 by Long Beach Mayor Beverly O'Neill. The Long Beach City Council confirmed the nomination on June 17. SAN RAMON - Philip Chow has been named to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd (OOCL). He will oversee all the Company's territorial trade businesses and continue to be a member of the carrier's Executive Committee. Chow most recently served as President of North America Trade Management and of OOCL (USA) Inc. He will relocate to OOCL's Hong Kong Headquarters. Succeeding Chow is Peter Leng, whp previously served as Senior Vice President of OOCL (USA) Inc.
SAN FRANCISCO - D. Kenneth Forssen has joined the URS Corp. as its new Vice President of Ports and Marine Services. Forssen previously served with several marine construction firms and acted as the principal engineer on a number of domestic US and international port development projects.
