ATRONIC STRENGTHENS CALIFORNIA PRESENCE
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - In order to better service its California customers, Atronic, leading producer of video slot machines, has expanded its California sales force to three new salespeople. Sean Marr and Jason de Grandmasson will represent Southern California, while Rob Musso will also support the company's customers in both Southern and Northern California.
Atronic Americas and sister companies Atronic International and Atronic Australia are members of the family-owned and operated Gauselmann Group, which has sold more than 1.8 million machines since inception, and 100,000 gaming devices in the year 2002 alone.
The company - the the world's third largest slot maker - is headquartered in Germany, and has offices in Australia, Austria, Great Britain, Peru, South Africa, and the US.
LA HARBOR COMMISSION RE-ELECTS PRESIDENT, VP
LOS ANGELES - Nicholas Tonsich and Elwood Lui have been re-elected as president and vice president, respectively, of the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners. Tonsich, a practicing attorney, is a partner at Glaser, Tonsich & Brajevich, a San Pedro-based law firm with a focus on litigation matters pertaining to environmental issues, tort defense, maritime law, employment discrimination, real estate transactions and development, zoning enforcement and contractual disputes. He is a resident of San Pedro. Lui is a partner at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, a Los Angeles law firm specializing in commercial litigation. He concentrates on both federal and state court appeals. Lui, a resident of Los Angeles, is also engaged as a private judge in alternative dispute resolution matters with an emphasis on complex accounting and business transactions. SAN FRANCISCO - Mark Gaumond has been named the new Managing Partner in Ernst & Young's San Francisco office. Gaumond joined Ernst & Young in May, 2002 as a partner in the firm's global accounts practice. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Mark spent 27 years with Arthur Andersen. He earned a bachelor of arts from Georgetown University and an MBA in business administration from New York University. He is a certified public accountant in California, Connecticut and New York.
BIOTECH COMPANY APPOINTS NEW ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER
SAN DIEGO - TargeGen Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focusing on novel small molecule drugs for the treatment of ischemic diseases and cancer, has named Dr. Mark R. Green, M.D., to its Scientific Advisory Board.
Green currently serves as Professor of Medicine and Gilbreth Professor of Clinical Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Green has more than 300 scientific publications to his credit. He received his BA and MD degrees from Harvard University and completed post- graduate training in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and at Stanford University Medical Center.
