AMERICAN AIRLINES TO LINK LA, PUERTO RICO

SAN JUAN - American Airlines will begin nonstop weekend service between San Juan. Puerto Rico and Los Angeles starting December 19.
 
The airline will fly the route with a Boeing 767 aircraft with capacity for 31 Business-Class and 182 Coach-Class passengers.

The schedule for the Los Angeles-San Juan service calls for a single flight Fridays and Saturdays departing Los Angeles at 11:45 am, and Saturday and Sunday service from San Juan departing at noon.

CHINA EASTERN INTRODUCES NEW CHINA TRAVEL STANDARDS

LOS ANGELES - China Eastern Airlines plans to inaugurate the first ever Airbus 340-600 service from Los Angeles to Shanghai, Beijing and Harbin, China, effective September 1.
 
The new Airbus 340-600 offers three classes of service -- First Class, Business Class, and Economy -- with a total of 322 seats.
 
The world's longest jetliner, the Airbus 340-600 is nearly 250 feet long, with a wingspan of 208 feet. Powered by four Rolls-Royce engines, it is an ultra long-haul aircraft, capable of flying up to 7,500 nautical miles nonstop, or more than 1,000 miles longer than the Los Angeles-Shanghai route.
 
China Eastern offers nonstop service to China from Los Angeles, and the only nonstop service to Shanghai, Asia's fastest growing city. From September 1 through October 25, there will be five flights a week to Shanghai and four to Beijing with a combination of nonstop and one-stop services; Harbin will continue to be served nonstop once a week.
 
Effective October 26, service to both Shanghai and Beijing will be daily, with three weekly nonstop flights to Shanghai, three to Beijing, and one to Harbin.
 
Based in Shanghai, China Eastern has an extensive route system within China covering more than 150 routes, and also flies to Europe, Australia and throughout Asia.
The airline's fleet is comprised of more than 150 aircraft.
