PLANS FOR RUSSIAN THEME PARK UNVEILED
MOSCOW - Deputy Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Resin has said that the construction of a "Disneyland-like theme park" will begin in 2005.
The planned 500-acre will be built in the Mnevniki district of Moscow and is expected to cost about $6 billion, according to reports in Itar-Tass. Resin said city authorities were already in talks with a number of potential foreign investors.
He added the park would be open even through the traditionally bitter Russian winter because most of the new park's attractions will be indoors. "This unique theme park - the largest in the country when it's completed - will be opened ten to fifteen years after the beginning of construction," he said.
