JOHN GAFFNEY NEW VP - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AT SLEEPCAT EMERYVILLE - Sleepycat Software has named John Gaffney as its new vice president of Business Development.
In this new company role, Gaffney will oversee the company's initiatives to sell new products, expand into new markets, develop additional strategic partnerships and broaden the company's distribution channels.
He will report directly to Michael Olson, the firm's CEO. Gaffney, most recently served as Business Development Director at Viacore, the California-based provider of outsourced supply chain infrastructure solutions, and has held management roles in North America, the UK, and Australia.
FILEMAKER NAMES NEW MARKETING - SALES HEAD
SANTA CLARA - Ryan Rosenberg was recently named the new Vice President of Marketing and Services at Filemaker Inc.
According to the database software producer, Ryan will lead the teams responsible for product strategy, marketing programs and customer support.
Rosenberg's career spans work with several industry leaders including Symantec, eGain and Hewlett-Packard. Most recently, he was vice president of marketing for KnowNow, a provider of lightweight Internet middleware.
PACER NAMES UREMOVICH TO VICE CHAIR
CONCORD - Michael Uremovich, most recently a partner in the San Francisco-based consulting firm Manalytics International, has been named vice chairman of Concord-based Pacer International, the North American logistics and transportation provider. In this newly created position, Uremovich will be primarily responsible for corporate strategy, and will also have direct operating responsibility for the company's International, Supply Chain Services, and Warehousing and Distribution business units. Prior to his association with Manalytics, Uremovich served in senior marketing positions for Southern Pacific Railroad, APL, Ltd., and Lee Way Motor Freight. He will be based at the offices of the company's retail division, Pacer Global Logistics, in Dublin, Ohio.
