MENLO NAMES NEW REGIONAL EXECUTIVES

REDWOOD CITY - Menlo Worldwide Forwarding has named new executives to handle sales and ocean forwarding activities in Asia and South America, and ocean forwarding activities in Central America and Mexico.

The international freight forwarder's new Regional Sales Manager in Asia is Ivan Li, who will be based in Hong Kong and be responsible for China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Guam, and Saipan.

Li, who has over 16 years of industry experience, joined Menlo Worldwide Forwarding early last year as an area sales manager for the North Asia area. He was named  Regional Sales Manager in April.

Before joining Menlo Worldwide Forwarding his previous experience included positions with British Caledonian Airways and Hong Kong's Dragonair; UPS Hong Kong as hub manager; and Airborne Express as Senior Sales Manager for greater China.

Li will report to Simon Yam, vice president - Asia Pacific, Menlo Worldwide Forwarding.

The Redwood City-based company, formerly known as Emery Forwarding, has also appointed Sergio Haaz to the position of division ocean manager for Mexico and Central America.

Haaz joined Menlo Worldwide Forwarding in December 1996 and has held a number of management positions, including operations manager for Guadalajara, and business unit manager responsible for customs brokerage, ground services and mid-market logistics projects in Mexico. Haaz will be based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Fernando Rimbano has joined the company as Sales Manager - South America.

Rimbano will be based in Săo Paulo, Brazil and will manage the forwarding unit's sales and marketing strategies throughout the Southern Cone.

With over 19 years of international transportation and logistics experience, he most recently served as a Logistics Manager Niver Logistics in Sao Paulo. Prior sales management positions include posts at Bax Global GmbH and UTi Worldwide Inc.

Rimbano will report to Tony Caffrey, division manager, South America, Menlo Worldwide Forwarding.

JUDY LONG JOINS SAN DIEGO WORLD TRADE CENTER STAFF

SAN DIEGO - Judy Long has been named Controller / Operations Manager at the San Diego World Trade Center.

In her new position, she will be responsible for managing the SDWTC's financial, human resources, and information technology operations.

Long holds her BS degree in Business/Accounting with the University of Phoenix and is a CPA candidate with more than 20 years experience in the accounting field, including six years with Kyocera International, Inc.

She is an active member of the International Management Accountants Association (IMA).
