MATTEL NAMES DOLAN TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 
EL SEGUNDO - Mattel Inc. has named Michael Dolan, former chairman and chief executive officer of Young & Rubicam Inc., to its Board of Directors replacing William D. Rollnick, a Mattel director since 1984, who has retired from the company's Board effective immediately.
 
Prior to serving as chairman and chief executive officer of Young & Rubicam, Dolan held a number of key positions, including vice chairman, chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
 
Before joining Young & Rubicam, Dolan spent five years at PepsiCo Food International were he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Snack Ventures Europe. He began his career at the management consulting firm of Booz Allen & Hamilton.

A native of New York, Dolan is a graduate of Fordham University where he received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English. He holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in philosophy and English from Cornell University.

CHOY JOINS EDIFY AS VP OF ENGINEERING

SANTA CLARA - Alex Choy has been named Vice President - Engineering at the Edify Corp., a supplier of voice and speech recognition software.

Prior to joining the company, Choy held positions as Worldwide Senior Vice President of Engineering at Interwoven and Vice President of Engineering at Veritas. His experience also includes architectural and program management roles at multiple technology companies including HP, Sun, and Tandem Computers.
 
He holds his Masters degree from Stanford University and his Bachelors degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
