CALIFORNIA SOFTWARE OPENS OFFICE IN GERMANY

SAN CLEMENTE - California Software Corporation has expanded its operations into the German market with the opening of an office in the city of Frankfurt.

The software developer has been active in Germany for the past 13 years and claims several major companies such as Deutsche Bank, Daimler Chrysler, and BMW as clients.

The new office is the latest in the companies plans to expand its presence in growing markets.

Last year, California Software opened offices in Singapore, Argentina, Italy, and England with expansion plans for 2004 expected to be "equally aggressive," said a company spokesman.
 
In the US, the company has offices in Illinois and Georgia, as well as its San Clemente headquarters.

The company's products are marketed under the brand names BABY, Unibol, INFINITE and LPS with more than 100,000 installations in 56 countries.

UTSTARCOM REELS IN $200 MILLION CHINA CONTRACT

ALAMEDA - UTStarcom, Inc. signed a new contract with China Telecom valued at $200 million for deployment of its Personal Access System (PAS(TM)) infrastructure equipment in cities throughout twelve provinces in China.

The contract was awarded as a part of the recent, week-long US-China Seminar on Prospects for Cooperation in Telecom and IT in Washington, DC.
 
The contract "represents the continuation of a successful partnership between UTStarcom and one of China's largest fixed-line service providers, China Telecom," said a company press release.
 
More than 20 million Chinese have subscribed for PAS service in China through China Telecom and China Netcom on networks powered by UTStarcom technology since 1998, it said.

Shipments on this contract will begin in the first quarter of 2004 to meet increased demand for high-quality voice and data services in twelve provinces throughout China, including Chongqing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Sichuang.

In addition to its work in China, UTStarcom is also active in Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Africa, Latin America, and soon in the US.
 
CREDENCE OPENS NEW CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

MILPITAS - Credence Systems Corporation has opened a new headquarters / manufacturing facility in Milpitas, California.

The 180,000 square foot facility will serve as Credence's new corporate headquarters, and feature R & D and manufacturing areas that total over 45,000 square feet.

The Company is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of design, test, and production equipment for the semiconductor industry, and also maintains advanced production and design facilities in Hillsboro, Oregon.
