UNIONBANCAL VICE CHAIRMAN TO RETIRE
SAN FRANCISCO - UnionBanCal Corporation Vice Chairman Robert Walker has announced that he will retire. His successor, Philip B. Flynn, executive vice president and chief credit officer, has been promoted to vice chairman and will assume responsibility for Union Bank of California's Commercial Financial Services Group, effective April 1.
Walker has been a member of the board of directors and has served as head of all commercial banking activities since he joined Union Bank in 1992. Bruce Cabral, executive vice president, will assume responsibilities as Union Bank's Chief Credit Officer, effective April 1, and join the bank's Executive Management Committee.
PAVELKA NAMED ZAP NATIONAL SALES MANAGER
SANTA ROSA - Electric transportation company ZAP has named Ron Pavelka as its new National Sales Manager for the Northern California company's Consumer Products Division, which includes electric bicycles, scooters, dive propulsion vehicles, and future products.
Pavelka started at ZAP the first of the year. He has worked in consumer products distribution for the past 25 years, with an extensive background in the sports and recreation industry, including more than a decade in the dive industry.
He has worked in operations, customer service, field sales, marketing, and sales and marketing management.
Most recently, Pavelka was the General Manager for Sea & Sea USA, a company that specialized in manufacturing and distributing underwater camera equipment.
