ACTIFY DEVELOPS ASIAN LANGUAGE TOOLS

TOKYO, Japan - Actify Inc., a developer of client-server design visualization and collaboration solutions for the high technology, automotive, industrial automation and discrete manufacturing industries, has unveiled Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese versions of its SpinFire Professional 2004 and Actify Server 2004 programs.

SpinFire Professional 2004 and Actify Server 2004 are designed to make CAD data more easily accessible for non-technical users on a global scale. The English language versions of both products were released in February.
 
SpinFire Professional 2004 provides powerful 3D and 2D CAD visualization capabilities, without requiring a CAD system, in a secure and user-friendly format. SpinFire Professional 2004 enables access, communication and distribution of multiple CAD formats throughout the enterprise and supply chain, allowing companies to realize cost savings and productivity gains in product design, procurement, quoting and estimation, manufacturing, sales, marketing and support.

Actify SpinFire Professional 2004 and Actify Server 2004 are available immediately. Pricing for SpinFire Professional 2004 starts at $499.

Founded in 1996, San Francisco-headquartered Actify Inc. is a privately held and sells its software products  through authorized distributors and value-added resellers in North America, Europe, and Asia.
 
UTSTARCOM EXPANDS MARKETSHARE IN CHINA

ALAMEDA - UTStarcom Inc. has snagged a contract valued at approximately $20 million with China Telecom Corporation (CTC) to expand and optimize deployments of its IP-based PAS (Personal Access System) (iPAS(TM)) in China's Shaanxi Province.

This contract represents the fourth major iPAS network expansion in Shaanxi since the initial deployment in 1999.

The capital city of Xi'an in the Shaanxi Province was one of the company's first major PAS deployments. Introduced in the region in 1999, PAS service has thrived and attracted subscribers who are interested in low-cost, mobile telecommunications and data services.
 
More than 1.5 million people currently subscribe for PAS service in 10 cities throughout the province. UTStarcom currently has 100% of the PAS infrastructure market and approximately 60% of the handset market.

In addition to its mainland China operation, the company is also active in Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Africa, India, and Latin America.
