ALLIED CAPITAL OPENS NEW LA OFFICE
WASHINGTON, DC - Allied Capital Corporation has expanded its presence to the West Coast with the opening of a new office in Los Angeles.
The company is one of the largest business development firms in the country providing long-term debt and equity investment capital to support the expansion of companies in a variety of industries.
Allied Capital also participates in the real estate capital markets as an investor in non-investment grade commercial mortgage-backed securities, collateralized debt obligation bonds and preferred shares.
The new Los Angeles office will be headed by Jeri Harman, who will be responsible for establishing Allied Capital's operations throughout California and for leading the office's investment origination and execution process. She will also serve as a member of the company's investment committee. Prior to joining Allied Capital, Harman was Managing Director and head of the American Capital Strategies LA office for four years. Earlier career highlights include four years as Managing Director and Head of Private Placements at First Security Van Kasper; three years as Managing Director of Coopers & Lybrand's corporate finance group in LA, and over 11 years in various senior level positions in the private placement investment group at Prudential Insurance Company.
