PROKOP TAPPED AS  PRESIDENT OF PACER DISTRIBUTION

SOUTH GATE - Kent Prokop, a 27-year veteran of the freight logistics and transportation industry, has been named president of the Warehousing and Distribution unit of Pacer International Inc.
 
The Warehousing and Distribution operation functions as part of the company's retail segment, which provides logistics services such as consolidation, deconsolidation, cross-dock work, warehousing, related drayage, container-yard (CY), and other services to manufacturers and retailers.
 
Prokop will be based at the Pacer office and cross-dock facility in South Gate, near Los Angeles. He previously served as vice president of an affiliated unit, Pacer Cartage, and, prior to joining Pacer, was general manager of Interstate Consolidation Inc., which was acquired by the company in 1997.
 
NETWORK ASSOCIATED NAMES NEW EVP OF MARKETING

SANTA CLARA - Network Associates has appointed Parveen Jain the new Executive Vice President of McAfee Marketing and Strategy.

In the new role, Jain will be responsible for directing the company's marketing strategy including all aspects of product management, product marketing, field marketing, public relations, industry analyst relations and strategic alliances for the McAfee corporate security business.

Prior to assuming the new position, Jain was the president of the McAfee Network Security Technologies Group at Network Associates.

Jain joined the company from IntruVert Networks, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer. He holds a Ph.D from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati, and  undergraduate degree from both the Indian Institute of Science and Delhi University in India.
