PEET'S OPENS FIVE NEW CALIFORNIA STORES

EMERYVILLE - Peet's Coffee & Tea Inc., a specialty coffee roaster and marketer, has opened five new stores - three in the Northen California communities of Petaluma, Alameda and Berkeley, and one each in San Diego's Torrey Highlands and Pasadena's Hastings Ranch.

Year-to-date, including these five stores, the company has opened a total of seven new stores and are on target for the 15 to 20 new store openings this year.
 
Founded in Berkeley in 1966, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Inc. is a specialty coffee roaster and marketer of imported deep-roasted whole bean coffee.
 
The company's coffee, tea and related items are sold in several distribution channels including specialty grocery and gourmet food stores, online and mail order, office and restaurant accounts and its company-owned stores throughout the US.
