INTEL SIGNS CHINA MANUFACTURING PACT

SHANGHAI, China - Intel has signed a cooperative memorandum of understanding with Amoisonic Electronics, one of China's major telecommunication products manufacturers.

The MOU calls for the two companies to cooperate in the fields of wireless communication, digital home service and wireless Internet. Intel will provide technical support to the Amoisonic, while the two firms will cooperate to manufacture desktop computers and intelligent cellular phones.

According to industry analysts, Intel's target is to further entrench its current status as the No. 1 semiconductor chip maker in China.

Intel recently signed a similar memorandum with the prestigious Beijing University Founder Group, China's second largest computer producer.

That agreement offered technological support and training for the two companies' cooperation on creating a nationwide digital home service.
