TRADE GROUP LAUNCHES NEW PROFESSIONAL NETWORK

SAN JOSE - The German American Business Association of California has selected "LinkedIn for Groups" to facilitate professional networking for its members on both local and international levels.

By accessing the GABA group on LinkedIn, GABA members can network, accomplish their business goals, and further their careers by safely and effectively leveraging existing relationships via the LinkedIn/GABA network.

LinkedIn for Groups enables professionals to help themselves and their contacts to connect with business partners, industry experts and employees.

Joining the GABA network on LinkedIn is free for GABA members and offers a 3-month trial-period for anybody interested.

Members will be able to access other GABA members and potential members directly or through referrals from shared contacts; access to the group directory with rich contact information, professional histories and endorsements with minimal administrative effort; and initiate focused searches on group members using criteria such as geography and areas of interest.
   
Founded in October 2002, GABA-CA has more than 200 associates and is one of the fastest growing non-profit membership organizations in both  California and Germany.

GABA-CA is headquartered in San Francisco and has recently opened chapters in Newport Beach, California and Munich, Germany. GABA's Industry Groups (IGs) offer special events, discussions, and the exchange of information focusing on industry areas such as life sciences, semiconductors and telecommunications.
 
Members of the group include corporate sponsors such as SAP, Lufthansa, Cooley Godward LLP, Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP, Spaten-USA, m+w zander, and degussa, among many other medium-sized and emerging growth technology and biotech companies.
