Solana Beach-based Bridgetech Holdings International Inc. has said that International MedLink Inc. (IML) of Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, has signed a strategic alliance agreement with the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) to provide curriculum content for a training program for Philippine nurses in conjunction with International MedLink's Philippine training partner, St. Louis Review Center. The Vanderbilt course curriculum will provide instruction on relevant topics and current US nursing practice to prepare Philippine nurses for the NCLEX-RN examination and to prepare them to work in the US. IML provides hospitals and other healthcare facilities with highly qualified nurses from the Philippines, India, and China who are credentialed to practice their profession in the US. The American College of Healthcare Executives reported recently that 72% of hospitals are currently experiencing a nursing shortage, and according to the latest projections from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than one million new and replacement nurses will be needed by 2012; and…
American Sterling Bank, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, has opened its first full-service bank office in California. Located in Orange County's Foothill Ranch area, the new branch will offer a full range of commercial and personal banking services. American Sterling Corporation, the holding company of the bank, has said it has long-term plans to open three to five branches in Orange County in the coming years. American Sterling Bank, which offers services including personal finance, investment products, commercial banking and lending, is the banking division of American Sterling Corporation, which has diversified interests in insurance, mortgage lending, film and TV production, technology, and philanthropy.
