OLD DOMINION UNVEILS NEW FACILITY, CHINA SERVICE

LONG BEACH – 08/15/07 – North Carolina-based Old Dominion Freight Line has opened a new service center near the Port of Long Beach.

The opening of the new 47-door Long Beach Service Center coincides with the inauguration of the less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier’s new transpacific service between the US and China.

The company’s China-side partner is Hong Kong-based Cargo Services Far East Ltd.

According to a company press release, the China service will provide door-to-door capability with scheduled sailings from all major ports in China to all major ports in the US.

Old Dominion has also increased its rates for its less-than-truckload service by about 5.1%, saying the increases would vary based on length of haul.
